Film Screening for Filipino American History Month

The Center for Asian American Studies and UT Libraries are excited to present a screening of three short films from award-winning Filipina filmmaker, Kayla Galang

-When You Left Me on That Boulevard (Short Film Grand Jury Prize Winner, Sundance Film Festival, 13 minute)
-Learning Tagalog With Kayla (SXSW 2021 Festival; Short of the Week; 3 minutes)
-Interview w/ PJ Raval and Allison Kim as part of the UT Contextualization and Commemoration Initiative (30 minutes)

Following the films, we'll have a short panel with Kayla Galang, filmmaker PJ Raval, and student interviewees from the Filipino Students Association, Asian American Journalists Association, and Asian American Studies. 

The Center for Asian American Studies is generously providing a spread of delicious Filipino dishes from the local restaurant Kapatad.
