Consultations available for
Author Rights
We can help explain publisher policies and copyright transfer agreements. You can consult with us in order to learn how to negotiate and retain rights to your work.
Copyright Assistance
We provide copyright assistance to UT faculty, students, staff, and researchers. We are available to answer your questions via email or in person by appointment. We are also available to give a presentation to your class or department.
If you would like to learn more about copyright, please visit our Copyright Crash Course.
Open Scholarship
The Libraries encourages open forms of scholarship that more widely disseminate the research and scholarship of the university. We can help you use UT repositories to share your research or help you find an open access publication to use. Contact us if you would like to discuss ways to improve access to your research.
Open Access at UT Austin
The Libraries participates in several open access publishing initiatives with the goal of creating a more sustainable publishing ecosystem. Some of these initiatives have direct benefits to authors in the form of discounts on open access charges or fully funded open access publishing (no fee to the author). You can find more information regarding these initiatives, including our funding priorities, by visiting our Open Access LibGuide.
